Pixels of the Past: Australia's Game Legacy

Crossy Road Edition

Pixels of the Past is an open-source, non-commercial project celebrating Australian-made video games. The project enables players to "jump" through reimagined levels, collect fun facts, and discover the legacy of classic Aussie games in this playful tribute to Australia’s gaming history!

The Crossy Road Edition lets players explore a platforming level inspired by the original Crossy Road (2014), collecting facts about the game along the way.

Crossy Road Original (2014)

Crossy Road (2014) was developed by Matt Hall, Andy Sum, and Ben Weatherall in 12 weeks. Players need lightning-fast reflexes and non-stop movement as they traverse basic, procedurally generated landscapes. Dodging cars, trains and collecting coins to buy new character skins, this arcade hopper is humble yet addictive.

You can find and play the original game on https://www.crossyroad.com/
